SNR Analysis of DMT using the Parametric Channel Model

چکیده
Multicarrier modulation schemes are attractive for transceiver lter design on static frequency selective channels. When the channel is time varying, a straightforward application of such schemes requires channel tracking. If the time variation is relatively slow, it is likely that conventional DMT channel partitioning will not incur drastic reduction in signal to noise ratios (SNRs). We provide an analytic method for determining the SNR on each tone, clearly separating the eeects of intercarrier interference (ICI) and additive noise. We also provide the distribution of SNR as a function of Rayleigh fading. 1

Diversity-Multiplexing Tradeoff via Asymptotic Analysis of Large MIMO Systems
Diversity–multiplexing tradeoff (DMT) presents a compact framework to compare various MIMO systems and channels in terms of the two main advantages they provide (i.e. high data rate and/or low error rate). This tradeoff was characterized asymptotically (SNR-> infinity) for i.i.d. Rayleigh fading channel by Zheng and Tse [1]. The asymptotic DMT overestimates the finite-SNR one [2]. In this paper...
متن کاملPerformance of DMT Systems Under Impulsive Noise
The performance of DMT systems is studied in impulsive noise channels by using Middleton's Class A noise distribution. A statistical model is developed to generate Class A distributed impulsive noise samples and this model is used for the performance analysis. An exact expression is derived for the subchannel SER. By employing the central limit theorem, the subchannel SER is further simplified....
متن کاملFinite-snr Dmt of Mimo System with Zf Receiver
In Multiple Input and Multiple Output (MIMO) systems, spectral efficiency can be increased when compared to single antenna systems without increasing transmit power., A point-to-point MIMO system is considered along with a zero-forcing (ZF) linear receiver. At the receiver, perfect channel state information (CSI) is assumed. Also, at the transmitter no CSI is assumed. The diversity and multiple...
متن کاملDiversity Multiplexing Tradeoff of SIMO Maximal-Ratio Combining Scheme
The Diversity Multiplexing Tradeoff (DMT) [1] is a compact, yet elegant framework to capture the performance of wireless communication systems at asymptotically high signal to noise ratios (SNR). Recent application of DMT at finite SNR [2] makes the DMT a versatile framework. We have analyzed the DMT for the rate-adaptive SIMO maximal-ratio combining (SIMO-MRC) for asymptotic and non-asymptotic...
متن کاملEnergy Detection of Unknown Signals over Composite multipath/shadowing Fading Channels
In this paper, the performance analysis of an energy detector is exploited over composite multipath/shadowing fading channels, which is modeled by Rayleigh-lognormal (RL) distribution. Based on an approximate channel model which was recently proposed by the author, the RL envelope probability density function (pdf) is approximated by a finite sum of weighted Rayleigh pdfs. Relying on this inter...
